Ágnes Vári

Agnes is an ecologist with a background in Hydrobiology and Plant ecology. She holds a PhD in Ecology from the Eötvös Loránd University (Hungary) and a Diploma in Biology from the Technical University of Munich (Germany). She has been working with ecosystem services in several regional and national assessments, compiling maps, assisting in participatory workshops and developing appropriate methods for assessments at different scales. Taking part in the National Mapping and Assessment of ES in Hungary, she has been leading the Hydrological working group, assessing water related ecosystem services. Currently, she is a postdoc researcher at McGill University and as part of the ResNet Synthesis Team, working on how to combine ES indicators, assessments and maps, and how to up and/or downscale these in order to obtain a tool that can provide answers relevant for local decision making as well as to national decision making
