Bowen Roger
Masters Student | University of Guelph | Landscape 4
Bowen is a physical geographer who is interested in sustainable land transformations under climate change, particularly in the context of agroecosystems. She began her studies in geology and hydrology before finding a passion for conservation and resource management. She is currently a working towards an MSc at the University of Guelph in the department of Geography, Environment, and Geomatics. Her research within Landscape 4 pertains to the opportunities and trade-offs in ecosystem services associated with agricultural frontiers in northern climates. The project aims to use geographic spatial analysis to quantify the amount of land becoming suitable for agriculture in Ontario by 2100 due to increased temperatures. Her master's thesis will be exploring the potential benefits and consequences of such development. She hopes to continue working in environmental conservation and contributing to research in building resilient ecosystems.
