François holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and has been working in Statistics Canada's Environment Program for over 20 years. François and his team are responsible for implementing the U.N. System of Environmental-Economic Accounts, and in particular the land, water and ecosystem components. They are also responsible for the StatCan's flagship publication “Human Activity and the Environment”, and maintain several datasets on ecosystem stocks and flows. François is a member of several national and international committees and working groups championing the development of concepts, sources and methods to improve the measurement of the relationship between the environment and society.
