Kii’iljuus Barbara Wilson is a Haida Matriarch, elected representative of the Council of the Haida Nation, scholar, educator and great grandmother. She serves as a member of the Gwaii Haanas Archipelago Management Board and Board of Directors for Coast Opportunity Funds. With an MA in Education from SFU, her research and education links traditional knowledge, land and ocean management and conservation, climate change and Indigenous governance. Barb’s dream is to go back to Hawaii to learn traditional navigation and teach Haida youth how to navigate by the stars, clouds and birds. |
