Poliana is an ecologist who focused her research on understanding how landscape structure and human driven changes can affect biodiversity and ecosystem services. Her past publications encompass themes such accessing species vulnerability to plan conservation and adding spatial constraints into species distribution models. She was born and raised in the tropics, but has adopted Canada as her new home as she looks forward to contributing to best approaches for safeguarding ecosystem services for the new generations to come.
